1/ SIMPLE 3 INGREDIENT CHOCOLATE BARS

Sometimes a long list of ingredients can be tiresome and exhausting. First there’s the task of collecting them all and then you have to measure all of them out. It is such a hassle. To make things easier, we have a simple recipe that uses just 3 ingredients and yields a simple chocolate bar just like the one you get at a store.

Serves: 4-5

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Cup Melted Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 3 Tablespoons Maple Syrup

Procedure:

  1. Whisk together all three ingredients in a bowl. Make sure that the mixture is smooth and there are no powder lumps.
  2. For the best, most commercial looking results you’ll need chocolate bar moulds but even if you don’t have them something shallow will work.
  3. Spread the mixture as thinly as possible onto your surface of choice.
  4. Transfer to a freezer and freeze overnight.
  5. Break a piece and pop into your mouth as needed.

2/ DARK CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES

It is hard to resist when goodness comes in small bite sized packages. This is one of those treats. The truffles are easy to make and even easier to eat. You can present them at parties and dinners to impress the guests or just make them for yourself and eat them all up. Both options sound good to me!

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 Cup Grated Dark (at least 70%) chocolate
  • 1/4 Cup Powdered Hazelnuts
  • 7 Tablespoons Coconut Milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Procedure:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the coconut milk until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Take off heat and immediately add the grated dark chocolate. It should be very finely grated.
  3. Cover the pan, wrap it with a towel and allow to sit for about 5 minutes.
  4. Then slowly remove the lid, add in vanilla extract and gently stir the mixture so that all the chocolate is melted.
  5. Allow to cool while covered.
  6. When the pan can be touched by a naked hand, uncover and transfer to refrigerator.
  7. Allow to chill for about 3 hours.
  8. After 3 hours, insert a knife in the middle. If it comes out clean, your mixture is ready.
  9. Use a small scoop to take out some of the mixture and roll it into balls.
  10. Roll in powdered hazelnuts and line on a plate.
  11. Serve and enjoy!

3/ CHOCOLATE JELLY

Who would have thought of combining these two amazing ingredients?
Surprisingly these both work very well together.

Serves: 10

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Brewed Espresso
  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon Agar Flakes
  • A Pinch of Salt

Procedure:

  1. In a saucepan, combine together water and agar flakes. Allow to sit for about 15 minutes.
  2. Then put on heat and bring to a boil.
  3. Lower the heat and allow to simmer until all the agar flakes have dissolved.
  4. Add in all the other ingredients apart from the espresso. If you add in the espresso now, the coffee will burn and become bitter.
  5. Take off the heat, add espresso and pour into small cups, glasses or moulds.
  6. Freeze until set.
  7. Pop out and enjoy!
